Getting To Know Bishop Rob Browning

Today we're going to learn about Rob Browning, the bishop of Guilford Ward. 

How did you find Jesus in your life?

I was raised in the church and feel like I have always had a testimony of the Savior. This began to grow significantly in middle school and high school as I began attending seminary and studying the gospel on my own. It was further strengthened on my mission in Latvia. The church and the Savior have always been major parts of my life, and I love to talk about the church with just about anyone.

How did you meet your wife?

Emily and I met while attending the Young Single Adult Ward in Chapel Hill. She was at UNC and I was at Duke.

What General Conference talk has been on your mind lately and why?

“He Could Heal Me” - Elder Muers, I love that the atonement applies to all. Often times we believe it applies to everyone, but sometimes have trouble accepting that it applies to ourselves. He uses powerful examples in this talk that really moved me.

What is your go-to ice cream flavor and why?

Blue Bell Cookie Two Step - cookie dough and Oreos. Can’t be beat. Maximum number of calories per spoonful!

How many children do you have?

Emily and I have three young boys.

Where else have you lived and how long have you lived in North Carolina?

I grew up in Utah. Aside from my mission, I had never been east of eastern Utah. I lived in Hawaii for a while when attending BYU-H, lived two years in Latvia, two years in Durham and in Greensboro since 2013.
